THINGS TO DO
Stone Town:
Spend at least 2 hours here. The architecture is beautiful and there’s lots of great shopping. The island locals are muslim, so you’ll need to cover up when walking around town.
Jozani Forest:
Take a short hike through the forest to spot the cute Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkeys.
Snorkeling:
There’s lots of amazing places to go snorkeling around the island. I went to the Blue Lagoon because it was at our local beach by the hotel. The water temperature is amazing and there were so many colourful fish amongst the reef.
WHERE TO STAY
We loved our 2 bedroom villa the_bali_resort_zanzibar, it was so quiet and peaceful and just a 5 minute walk to the beach.
GETTING THERE

After a safari, it’s common to hop on a short bush plane flight over to the island of Zanzibar for a few days. 10/10 recommend visiting this tiny, remote island off the coast of Tanzania 🏝️
We stayed at the stunning kilindizanzibar, which was originally built for one of the band members of ABBA before it was open to the public. I didn’t realize Zanzibar had such clear waters, white sandy beaches, and beautiful tropical views everywhere you look 🌺

Today we walked all around the tip of Nungwi from the west side to the tip to the East side. How amazing! But am SO glad we stay in a hotel on the west side where the beach is amazing. The view from the East side is a must at low tide because that turquoise water goes on as far as the eye can see! Nice to have a drink over there because there is a nice breeze with an amazing view. But for staying in accommodation, I definitely prefer the west side of Nungwi or Kendwa.
For staying on the East side, I recommend Paje in the southeast. Best plan: stay in Stonetown at least 1-2 nights so that you have a full day there. Then Paje 3-4 nights, and then Nungwi or Kendwa for a few nights. We are staying a week in Nungwi 😎.

Abbiamo passato due splendide settimane a Zanzibar 🌺🏝️
Prima di partire ci siamo informati su quale spiaggia facesse al caso nostro, una cosa era sicura, volevamo passare più tempo possibile a fare kitesurf 🏄♂️🏄♀️ ed anche a rilassarci.
Così abbiamo scelto questa località, Paje.
Paje è la zona dell’isola più ventosa, wild e giovanile.
Sulla spiaggia è un susseguirsi di localini e ristoranti, senza che le costruzioni risultino invasive, ed ogni sera c’è un party diverso.
È una località affascinante e durante la giornata, grazie al fenomeno delle maree, si trasforma in un vero paradiso.
Si trovano strutture di tutti i tipi e costi e vi consiglio di non preoccuparvi di sceglierne una con la formula All Inclusive perché il cibo a Paje non costa molto ed avrete la possibilità di mangiare sempre in posti diversi.
Se non volete appesantirvi troppo, soprattutto a pranzo, potete fare come noi che a volte mangiavamo frutta fresca presa direttamente dai venditori in spiaggia.
Tra i posticini che ho amato di più ci sono il rooftop chiamato “Hi Sky” dove si può cenare o fare aperitivo guardando il tramonto 🌅 e il ristorante “The seafood heaven” dove si mangia del pesce davvero buonissimo 🤤
Nonostante questo viaggio sia finito con due fratture al metacarpo della mia mano sinistra 🖐️🤕 per una caduta con il kitesurf, è stato FANTASTICO passare 2 settimane in quest’isola tropicale e conoscere il suo splendido popolo ♥️
